This site was originally created to provide support to the Marc h 2008 Black Belt Test for Anjing Banfa. At this time it is a support site for the test participants but will evolve in the future to showcase concepts and ideas from DragonEdge Designs while providing personal commentary on topical issues in the martial arts.

Last summer I was speaking with a Black Belt from another system. They were telling me how hard and long their Black Belt test was -- it lasted almost three hours. I just smiled. Our last test for new students going from White Belt to Second Blue lasted six hours!
Everyone claims to have tough Black Belt tests and I am certain they are correct. The Black Belt test is a culmination of learning and achievement and should reflect the philosophy of the system. I am not going to say our Black Belt tests are tough -- it is better to think of them as an adventure where the goal is to survive!
